SolaREIT Spotlight: July
Peter Wyatt
At SolaREIT, our mission to accelerate the clean energy transition is powered by a diverse team of passionate and talented individuals. Each team member is crucial in delivering innovative financing solutions to solar and battery energy storage developers and landowners. As a minority and women-owned business, we know that the unique contributions of every person on our team drive our collective success.
This month, we're happy to shine the spotlight on Peter Wyatt, Sales and Business Development Manager. Peter joined SolaREIT full-time in 2025 after completing an internship with us. He is a recent graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in Business Administration from the Isenberg School of Management.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background.
I grew up in North Reading, Massachusetts, just north of Boston, and studied business management at UMass Amherst. In high school, I was a captain on the football and track teams. Before joining SolaREIT, I worked extensively in childcare, managing after-school programs and summer camps at various YMCA branches in Massachusetts. I still coach youth basketball in the winter. My first exposure to renewables was through my dad, who worked on wind farm construction in Cape Cod for Cashman Construction—that really sparked my interest in the industry.
What inspired you to join SolaREIT?
I wanted to be in an industry where the work matters—not just for profits, but for the planet and future generations. During my internship, I was blown away by the character of the company and the team. I knew I wanted to come back after graduation.
What has been your most rewarding experience at SolaREIT?
Connecting with people from across the country and around the world every day has been incredibly rewarding. It’s been great learning about different strategies and our team’s involvement in the industry. I also value every opportunity to engage with our deeply experienced team—soaking up their knowledge has been a huge benefit.
How do you see the future of renewable energy and SolaREIT's role in it?
Even in my short time in the industry, I’ve seen amazing growth and ambition. I think the clean energy sector is just scratching the surface of its potential. I see SolaREIT continuing to be a strong partner for developers and a guiding voice in this space.
What has surprised you most about working at SolaREIT?
The team's day-to-day problem solving and ability to tackle challenges head-on has really impressed me. Despite the industry’s many hurdles, the prevailing attitude at SolaREIT is flexible, focused, and resilient—with gratitude for wins and patience for setbacks.
What do you enjoy doing outside the office?
I love being outdoors—whether it’s hiking, fishing, playing sports, or traveling. I’m also a coffee enthusiast and enjoy discovering new cafés. Recently, I’ve taken up Brazilian jiu-jitsu as a new hobby post-graduation.
