This April, we are pleased to spotlight Anila Shehaj, Controller at SolaREIT, whose leadership in accounting and finance helps build the strong financial foundation our growing company depends on. 

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background. 

I have spent over a decade working in accounting and finance, building experience across financial reporting, audit, and operational finance. Over time, I have grown into leadership roles where I focus not just on the numbers but on creating clarity, structure, and a strong foundation for growth. I really enjoy being part of environments where things are evolving and where I can contribute to building something meaningful. 

What inspired you to join SolaREIT? 

I was drawn to SolaREIT because it sits at the intersection of purpose and innovation. The renewable energy space is incredibly important, and the company's approach to solving real challenges there felt both unique and impactful. It felt like the kind of place where I could grow while also contributing to something bigger.  

What has been your most rewarding experience at SolaREIT? 

The most rewarding part has been being involved in building and shaping processes as the company grows. There is something really fulfilling about helping bring structure to complexity and knowing that the work we are doing supports bigger strategic goals. 

How do you see the future of renewable energy and SolaREIT's role in it? 

I think renewable energy will continue to expand and become an essential part of powering the world. As the industry grows, the need for smart, flexible financial solutions will only increase. SolaREIT has a unique role to play in enabling that growth, and it is exciting to be part of that journey. 

What has surprised you most about working at SolaREIT? 

I have been pleasantly surprised by how collaborative and supportive the team is. Even in a fast-paced environment where things are constantly evolving, there is a strong sense of teamwork and openness that makes a big difference day to day. 

What do you enjoy doing outside of the office? 

Outside of work, I really value time with my family and creating space to recharge. I am also very interested in personal growth and self-discovery, and I enjoy exploring practices that help me stay grounded and connected. It is a balance that keeps me energized both personally and professionally.
