This September, we are pleased to spotlight Beth Roth, Executive Assistant and Office Manager at SolaREIT, whose background in event planning, operations, and sales keeps our team operating like a well-oiled machine.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background.
I started my career working on large-scale events and conferences, much like the events RE+ hosts in Las Vegas today. That experience taught me a lot about managing moving pieces, working across teams and creating a great experience for people. Over the years, my roles have expanded across different areas, including sales and marketing, which has been especially useful at SolaREIT, where I’ve had the opportunity to get involved in so many different parts of the company. Fun fact about me is that I grew up in a military family and lived in X countries by the time I was 18.
What inspired you to join SolaREIT?
The team and the mission. Our founders are genuinely passionate about the environment, and SolaREIT has stayed true to its mission as the company has grown. I was also drawn to how much they care about growing the team and giving individual team members opportunities to develop professionally. It’s exciting to be part of a company where both the mission and the people matter.
What has been your most rewarding experience at SolaREIT?
Planning our five-year anniversary celebration last year was definitely a highlight. Everyone here works incredibly hard, so it was really special to stop, look at how far the company had come and celebrate together. We spend so much time focused on what’s next that it was fun to create a moment for the team to enjoy what we had accomplished.
How do you see the future of renewable energy and SolaREIT’s role in it?
A site visit last year really brought home the local impact of the work we do. So much of the renewable energy conversation happens at the national level, but these projects ultimately have a very tangible impact on individual communities. Seeing that firsthand gave me an even greater appreciation for SolaREIT’s role in helping projects move forward. As the industry continues to grow, I think there will be more opportunities for us to support developers while contributing to meaningful change at the local level.
What has surprised you most about working at SolaREIT?
How quickly the company has grown and how much we’ve been able to scale. As SolaREIT has evolved, my own role has evolved with it, and I’ve had the opportunity to become involved across many different parts of the business. That has been one of the most interesting parts of working here — there is always something new to learn and another way to contribute.
What do you enjoy doing outside of the office?
Traveling and spending time with my family are two of my favorite things. I just got back from a once-in-a-lifetime trip rafting through the Grand Canyon, and this fall I’m looking forward to traveling with my daughter to visit my son in Rome, where he’s studying abroad this semester. I also love walking my dogs and spending as much time outside as I can.
